Thankful

I finally got my fall decorating done-
even though it really feels more like summer here as it was 90 degrees on Saturday and mid 80s today-
I am so happy with the new Thankful banner that was a blog giveaway from a really sweet blogger, Debby, at Nanny's Place.    Thank you Debby,  I like things to be on the simpler side and this banner is perfect for mantel with the black mirror above it.

The big jars have pears, apples and little pumpkins in them.

This little truck belonged to my husband when he was a boy.  He found it in his parents attic when he helped them do some sheetrocking and painting in their garage a few weeks ago.

I also put  out 2 wreaths- one at the front door and one the coat closet door,  also some pilgrims in the dining room.

It looks like Autumn in the house but is also not too cluttered.
I really like pictures from other bloggers who display lots of stuff in their homes-
but in my own house,  it seems like too much and I like less.

  1. I like the banner and the truck! I'm like you--enjoy looking at pictures of houses with lots of cute decorations and arrangements but in my own home that drives me crazy! Just a few simple things will do!

  2. Hi Rhonda,
How pretty. I am making a banner for Christmas to go over my fireplace. You have been a busy girl.

  3. Your style of "less is more" is like my daughters. She feels like I overdo it, but it feels good to me.
Your mantel looks very pretty. How wonderful that you have your husbands old truck to decorate with. I love to see that kind of thing.
I have my husbands old train, I want to use it at Christmas time... I will find a way.

  6. Lovely! And what a fun thing to win! It does look perfect there with your decor!

I'm like you....just a few things out to celebrate the fall season...less is more and I've learned that over and over! I have a wreath on the door and a few things on the foyer table. I will do a centerpiece for the table, but haven't yet. And that's all! Quality over quantity, right? haha.

Love the old toy truck! Those things go for quite a bit of money at the auctions!
